Since their formation in 2009, the Fournier Piano Trio has established itself as one of the most captivating trio of their generation. Winners of the 2013 Parkhouse Award, the Trio were finalists at Hamburg in 2012 and received 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the 6th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in 2011. Formed under the guidance of David Takeno, they spent two years as Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellows at the Royal Academy of Music in London studying with Thomas Brandis.
The Trio has toured Europe, Asia and throughout the UK, performing in venues including the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St John’s Smith Square and Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Festival highlights include appearances at the Bath, Brighton, Chichester, Newbury Spring and Trondheim music festivals.
Committed to expand the piano trio repertoire, the Trio has premiered new trios by leading British composers Timothy Salter, Gary Carpenter, and Daniel Kidane and collaborated closely with Hugh Wood and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. They have performed live on BBC Radio 3, RTHK (Hong Kong) and NRK (Norway) and also recorded for USK Recordings, Convivium Records and Resonus Classics.
Since 2011 the Fournier Trio has been “Artist-in-Residence” at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.
